Rough Playing Conditions Today

I hope everyone is enjoying the day off from school due to the Snow Day. I swung by the courts this morning hoping to get a good picture of them blanketed in snow. While they weren't completely covered, this is what they looked like around 10:30 this morning.

District policy is that no extra curricular activities take place when there is no school due to inclement weather, so we are taking the day off. The weather is supposed to warm up above freezing today and should melt the snow off the courts. I'll go out tomorrow around noon and squeegee the remaining water off tomorrow so they should be playable tomorrow for practice.

We'll continue the practice format we were going with last week and we'll have the bottom half challenging and the top half doing drills. We'll flip flop that each day so that you should have two opportunities to move up or down.

A few of our players will be playing in the Rock Hill Winter Jamboree this weekend. That tournament will be using the Rock Hill Tennis Center as its main location and our courts as overflow. We should be able to practice Friday this week, but I'll know for sure once they announce the draws on Thursday.

At this point, plan on practice Friday unless you are playing in the tournament. If you are playing and don't have a Friday match, feel free to join us. You don't have to be at practice and you can take off Friday if you want to be rested. If you have a Friday match you're clearly not expected to be at practice. If you want to hit some for warm up, of course, you are welcome to join us.
